About The Honda CR-V
Vehicle Summary
The Honda CR-V is a five-passenger compact crossover SUV which launched in 2016 and is currently in its fifth generation. Striking a balance between passenger car and utility vehicle, it is perfect for urban dwellers — particularly young families who have to contend with narrow roads and tight parking spaces in the city.
The CR-V is jam-packed with features; notable ones in the fifth generation (2016–present) include the availability of a turbocharged engine (on EX trim and above), the Honda Sensing® suite of driver-assist technologies (EX and above), and full-time all-wheel drive (on all trims). Meanwhile, the interior benefits from an optional seven-inch touchscreen Display Audio infotainment system that is Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay™ compatible.

FAQ
Q: Does the Honda CR-V have Apple CarPlay®?
A: Yes. The 2017 and newer CR-V is equipped with standard Apple CarPlay on all trim levels except for the base trim. Plugging a compatible mobile device into the integrated USB port allows users to access entertainment, navigation, and more via the vehicle's built-in display.
Q: How comfortable is the Honda CR-V?
A: The 2017 and newer CR-V is built on the ultra-rigid next-generation Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure, providing a quiet driving experience with sharp-handling. A front MacPherson strut and multi-link rear suspension system are tuned for a comfortable ride.
Q: What kind of mileage does the Honda CR-V get?
A: The 2017 and newer CR-V, with the naturally aspirated 2.4L engine, has an EPA-estimated fuel consumption of 26 mpg in the city, 32 on the highway, and 28 combined with front-wheel drive, and an EPA-estimated 25 city, 31 highway, and 27 combined with all-wheel drive.1
The 1.5L turbocharged engine gets an EPA-estimated 28 mpg city, 34 highway, and 30 combined with front-wheel drive, and an EPA-estimated 27 city, 33 highway, and 29 combined with all-wheel drive.1

Honda CR-V vs. other SUVs
2018 Honda CR-V vs. 2018 Honda HR-V
When the CR-V has its rear seats folded down, the total cargo capacity is 75.8 cubic feet, compared to a maximum of 58.8 cubic feet in the smaller 2018 five-passenger subcompact HR-V crossover. The CR-V has two higher output engines as well — 2.4L and 1.5L — as opposed to a 141-horsepower, 1.8L four-cylinder in the HR-V. Both vehicles include an all-wheel-drive option and the AWD HR-V is EPA-estimated to get 27 mpg in the city, 32 on the highway, and 29 combined.1 Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not available on the HR-V.
2018 Honda CR-V vs. 2018 Toyota RAV4
A direct competitor, the 2018 five-passenger RAV4 has slightly less maximum storage space at 73.4 cubic feet when the second row is laid flat. The two engine options are a 176-horsepower, 2.5L four-cylinder and a 194-horsepower, 2.5L Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder/electric motor for hybrid models. All-wheel drive is offered as well; the AWD variant gets an EPA-estimated 22 mpg in the city, 28 on the highway and either 24 or 25 combined depending on the trim level.1 Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not available on the RAV4.
2018 Honda CR-V vs. 2018 Mazda CX-5
Another vehicle in the same class as the CR-V, the five-passenger 2018 Mazda CX-5 has the smallest cargo capacity at 59.6 cubic feet behind the front seats. Only one powertrain is utilized: a 187-horsepower 2.5L four-cylinder paired to a six-speed automatic transmission. Both front and all-wheel-drive versions are available, with the AWD variant EPA-estimated at 25 mpg in the city, 31 on the highway, and 28 combined.1 This is the only SUV in this list bundled with 19-inch alloy wheels, a feature of the Touring trim. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not available on the CX-5.

Reviews for Honda CR-V
Great car, great price!!
The Honda CR-V handles itself really well when driving, you don't feel like you're in a huge suv, but you feel the safety-ness of a big suv. It's extremely comfortable, easy to lower the back seats down with a flick of a switch.. And who can beat having a DVD player in the car? I was a little nervous about the leather seats, but surprisingly they never get hot in the summer.
Pros
- Cabin Noise:
- Ride and Handling:
- Fuel Economy:
Gets the job done
We owned this car for less than 4 months and we’re satisfied with it. Gas mileage is great, comfort ability is ok. Passenger seat is not very comfortable to sit. It does burn oil which from what I heard is normal but it gets the job done!
